Often, in cases of pneumonia, the patient gets better before the chest X-Ray does. If you have no symptoms and your physical examination shows no abnormalities on lung exam, I wouldn't consider this a case of unresolving pneumonia, would not recommend any medications but would recheck the chest X-Ray in a month. If you have symptoms or have other concerns, consult a pulmonologist for evaluation

Your shortness of breath is of concern after treatment for pneumonia. Bronchospasm, inflammatory changes and sometimes structural changes in the lungs may occur. Pulmonary function testing may provide more information and a follow up with your PCP is suggested. Watch for sputum, fever and wheezing.
