Scars of infertility: Adhesions (inner scarring) develop after abdominal surgeries and can cause infertility if fallopian tubal distortion occurs. The degree of adhesion formation after a cesarean delivery varies widely among individuals. There is no strong evidence that 1st-time C-sections cause infertility. In one study, only 7% of 1st C-section, but 68% of 3rd-time C-section patients developed adhesions.
