Possible Harm: To answer your questions best, I would need to know what type of pain medication. I'm going to assume a narcotic pain medication. Chronic narcotic use during pregnancy increases the likelihood a baby will be born small or early. These cross the placenta and baby is born addicted and must go through painful drug withdrawal after birth. Its best to stop them PRIOR to pregnancy. Best wishes!
