My 7 yr old was prescribed prednisone for croup. 2x a day for 7. hes only been on it 3 days & has been saying crazy things, hitting, super hyper. his weezing & barking have stopped. can we just stop taking it or do you have to wean off?

Okay to stop: He is obviously very sensitive to the central nervous system side effects at this dose. I would stop it immediately. The risk period for croup has passed & no wean is necessary.
