I woke up with a pain in my side. it hurts when i cough or move certain ways. i just finished a med pack of prednisone for wheezing. should i worry?

Probably OK: If you had had violent coughing spells when you had the asthma attack, this may well cause chest cage pain (costochrondritis). This usually improves in a couple of weeks. If not, then you need to talk your doctor for further assessment.
