Mucocoel: You have hundreds of mucus producing glands in your mouth & sometimes chewing breaks their exit tracks. Mucus can back up in these & produce a fluid filled cyst . They will often disappear over time but can be removed if they are irritating. An exam can confirm or exclude this possibility.

Possibilities: My be a mucocele, a minor salivary gland with a blocked duct. May be partially blocked duct of a major salivary gland. May be a draining abscess from an infected tooth. May be a periodontal (gum) abscess. There are other possibilities, but to be sure see your Dentist for an examination, diagnosis, and appropriate treatment plan. If it is a mucocele will probably disappear units own.
