Couple Probabilities: If you "just woke up with it" one morning, and it's already the size of a pea, chances are it's just a salivary duct stone, but you want a dentist to personally see this and give a proper diagnosis. Internet diagnoses are not worth too much, as we have no x-rays, no good history, and no ability to see clinically. Don't stress too much, but go have it looked at soon. Also, drink lots of water.

Salivary duct block: You may have a salivary gland blockage under tongue, which will create soreness and swelling. You cannot treat on own...Should see a dentist, preferably an oral surgeon.
