7 month old was born with blocked duct on side in upper lid. lid has been swollen and red for 2 days- can it be an infection of duct-eye is normal- no discharge or redness. she did have a cold the last few days which has cleared up?

Maybe/not: The tear ducts starts as a tear sac under that inner corner & travels down to the base of the nose before emptying.It can sometimes plug with debris. If you roll the tip of a finger from nose to cheek over that corner you can sometimes push the debris out (top or bottom). Wiping the area clear & doing this roll several times can fix it. It can become inflamed if the lid& eye is red & need drops.
