Can syncope be diagnosed via an ekg soon after an occurrence?

Syncope: Do you ask whether an ekg can diagnose the cause of the transient loss of consciousness soon after the event? In some cases it can show the cause such as abnormally slow or rapid heart rates, types of heart block, pattern of a very recent heart attack,etc. These entities can predispose a person to syncopal episodes.

Friend, 42yo F, passed out 7/21 for unclear reasons and taken to ER. Dx of syncope. I thought her lip dropped and was worried about TIA. They say unlikely but no tests. Her EKG came back w/ nonspecific T wave abnormalities. Any need to be concerned?
