A member asked:

Can syncope be diagnosed via an ekg soon after an occurrence?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Syncope: Do you ask whether an ekg can diagnose the cause of the transient loss of consciousness soon after the event? In some cases it can show the cause such as abnormally slow or rapid heart rates, types of heart block, pattern of a very recent heart attack, etc. These entities can predispose a person to syncopal episodes.
