H2 blockers: Antacids like Magasil, Tums and Rolaids are good for the occasional heartburn. Daily heartburn is better treated by preventing the acid from forming. H2 blockers such as Cimitidine, Zantac and Pepsid are are often more effective and safer for daily use.
