Ice eating : Your physician will take a history and perform a physical exam and make a decision on treatment recommendations depending on the information they gather. Generally though, constant eating of ice is a sign of iron deficiency, so you may want to seek evaluation for that. Hope that helps!

PICA: The term "pica" to describe craving and chewing substances that have no nutritional value — such as ice, clay, soil or paper. Craving and chewing ice (pagophagia) is often associated with iron deficiency, with or without anemia. In some patients nutritional problems and emotional problems may be the cause. Thorough medical evaluation is needed.Contact yourPCP or get referral from Health Tap.
