It happens: Some irregularity in timing can happen occasionally in anyone, even those who are usually quite regular. If pregnancy is not an option, other variables like a failure to ovulate that cycle, or other hormonal issues could be at play. You may want to check with your doc if menses does not appear in a month or so.
