Bronchitis: I suspect that bronchitis following an upper respiratory tract infection is the cause of your cough productive of sputum. This can be a prolonged process and if you're raising significant amounts of discolored sputum and symptoms are over a week old, I recommend a course of antibiotics. Discuss with your physician.
