Steroids: Your viral infection may be triggering a more severe asthma type cough and the bronchodilating inhaler i suspect you are using may need to be augmented with a short course of steroids. You may also need to have a chest x-ray to make sure you don't have pneumonia. If it continues you should see your doctor.
