Only one: If your symptoms go away with an antihistamine only (benadryl, claritin, (loratadine) zyrtec or allegra) not any combination pill then this is due to allergies & you should remove all fragrances, aerosols, smoke, candles, in skin care & home. If one of these does not work in an hour & your cough persists you MUST see a doctor to find out the cause. It could be something serious. Naturally, if you smoke, quit.
