Usually yes: Most people with oral herpes can have entirely normal sex lives, including kissing and performing oral sex on partners. Oral herpes usually doesn't recur all that often. Transmission without an outbreak isn't very common. Half of all adults in the US have had HSV1; all such partners are immune to new infection anywhere on the body. Oral herpes usually is only oral, no risk from your genital area.
