Unrelated problems: Neither hair loss nor despression is a likely cause of the other. Some people may be so distressed by hair loss that depression could result, but this probably is rare. Both could have another underlying cause, e.g. a thyroid problem, but unlikely. See your GP or family doctor first, but don't be surprised if s/he finds no connection and recommends anti-depressant drug and/or counseling.
