A member asked:

Ferritin 6ug, b-12 178pg/ml. what can cause two kinds of anemia at the same time? tapeworm? blood loss from menstruation? im so depressed about this.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Take supplements: Blood loss through menstruation is a common cause of iron deficiency. Low B12 could be due to poor intake in diet or failure to absorb, There is no need to be depressed. Both can be easily replenished, by oral intake, though B12 may require injections. Talk to your doctor who did the tests.
