Carefully: The tissue in that area is still healing so you don't want to traumatize it. Hard to say what the graininess is without an exam. Could be calculus or rough porcelain. Have your dentist take a look.

Grainy feeling: May be the finish on the crown material, the edge of the crown, or most probably tarter that accumulated on the crown's surface especially if not flossed daily. Have your Dentist examine area and advise you. Your extraction site should be pretty much healed over, so brush area gently but thoroughly.
