How often can a knee be drained and injected with steroids to stop swelling and pain?

See details: You do not mention the cause of the knee pain and swelling. This is important to know to provide you with an answer to your question. I will assume it is related to osteoarthritis. A knee should not be injected more than 3-4 times a year. If it provides only short term relief then you need to consider other treatment options.
