A member asked:

Can a nul cell pituitary tumor cause "hypergonadism" & rapid lh pulse frequency by interfering w/ the gnrh pulse generator from the hypothalamus?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

LH pulse : If by "nul cell" is meant an "empty sella" , there is no tumor to cause pituitary problems. To make sure, ask your gyn provider to get a serum prolactin level, and if less than 100, there is no reason to be concerned about pituitary function with a significant sized tumor. The LH surge in a normal cycle occurs 12-14 days prior to a period. If constant, there will be no ovulation or period.
