Separate issue: Genital herpes is an external event on the skin of your pubic structures. Recurrences can be limited by a variety of anti-virals. Cervicitis is an internal structure issue that may occur when you have a herpes outbreak but is a separate issue. It is not caused by the herpes nor is treatment related to it. As long as you have a cervix it can become inflamed.
