A member asked:

I have been taking spironolactone for a couple years. i have not had a period for about six weeks. i stopped the meds three days ago- no period yet. ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Spironolactone : Spironolactone is generally not commonly prescribed except for poly cystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), in which case, periods are infrequent in any case. If you have PCOS, it is unpredictable when your period may start. At 39, periods also come irregularly, even without PCOS. See your gyn for an exam and testing if this continues.
