Folliculitis: Since our hair and scalp are loaded with bacteria I'm surprised that the culture was sterile. Folliculitis is felt to be a bacterial infection of hair follicles and,if your physician felt that there was invasion of bacteria into the tissue, antibiotic treatment would be best for you. Some home remedies include shampoos or vinegar, but most physicians recommend antibiotic lotion or gel first.
