A member asked:

I had urinalysis test and it showed both bacteria and mucus rare and epithilitical cells 20-100. what does that mean?? thanks.

May need repeat test: A small number of bacteria may be found in the urine of many healthy people. This is usually considered to be harmless. However, a certain level of bacteria can mean that the bladder, urethra, or kidneys are infected. You have elevated epithelial cell count and it is probably due to contamination of the specimen. Your clinical findings has to correlate with the lab findings to have a meaning.
