2 if anything: In T1 you lose your ability to make insulin and end up in trouble quickly. Weight loss of 5+ lb in a week with constant thirst & urination are often seen & the peak onset age is around 8-12. A mild elevation of your A1c reflects higher blood sugars over a 3 month period than normal, but not at a level like T1's who are often 8 or more. Further testing should be done to sort out your issue.
