Erythema ab igne: Peculiar marks due to prolonged exposure to hot object. When you cease direct contact against the computer the skin will gradually resume normal color. Expect several months. The medical diagnosis is ERYTHEMA AB IGNE.

Heat damage! Stop!: Do get checked, but this may be due to prolonged heat exposure by laptops, heating pads or anything else, can permanently damage the skin. So cut it out! Limit exposure to 30 minutes in a row, break for 1 hour, and repeat. Chronic skin changes from heat damage is called Erythema ab igne (EAI). So stop before the damage is permanent.
