Sounds possible: There is no absolute scale for aging a bruise, but for it to turn back to red/purple does suggest that it bled again. Any chance it is from trauma/impact and you bumped it again?

Normal Color change: A bruise is mainly made up of Red Blood Cells that are under the skin. The pigment in the blood cells goes through a series of color changes as it gets broken down in the body. These manifest as the cahnegs in skin colour. This is normal and shows that your are healing.
