Abortion risks: There is a long list of possible abortion complications, too numerous to be listed here. However, both medical and surgical abortion are "safe" in the hands of an experienced MD. Medical (pills) abortions are most effective when performed prior to 10 weeks gestation. Surgical procedures are mandate at 12+ weeks for best results.
