Relatively common: You are not alone. Most will heal after their primary infection and can keep recurrent outbreaks under control with medication. A spouse may or may not get it over time, but many couples deal with it okay. It is very risky to a fetus/newborn if a woman has her first outbreak during pregnancy or delivery. After that point it is less dangerous to any pregnancy. Many couples have a normal family.

Feb. 23, 2020 I had one unprotected sexual encounter. 7 weeks later I had 10 open sores appear on the shaft of my penis/scrotum. Dr said folliculitis and swabbed for hsv. Came back neg. Today, I still have constant burning sens where sores were?
