X-ray when ?: X-rays taken at the time of the fall may not reveal a crack or fracture within the 8 bones in the wrist. The scaphoid bone is the common culprit. An x-ray taken a week or two later would show some bone changes that would either confirm or exclude a fracture. The injury should be re-evaluated .
