Maybe: If the swelling is actually from the parotid gland, it usually means that it is from a blockage of the duct taking saliva from the gland to inside the mouth. If it does not resolve on its own, the opening of the duct from the gland to inside the mouth needs to be probed to determine if there is a blockage. In addition, an antibiotic along with a saliva stimulus, like lemon juice is used.
