You can take them: It is possible to have a "rebound" congestion and mucosal swelling from overdoing it, but oftentimes, the decongestants are helpful to reduce the swelling. I recommend using a sinus rinse/neti pot 2-3 times/day. This can help flush out the mucus, and also moisturize the sinuses. Then use the oral antihistamines/decongestants as needed. You might not need to use both.
