A member asked:

Can a plunging ranula contain a thick fluid too thick to be tested for amalyse?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ranula: A ranula is a mucus cyst in the mouth for which surgical excision is performed for removal. I'm unsure of the significance of determining the amylase content. Your otolaryngologist or oral surgeon is best qualified to evaluate, advise and treat you.
