Yes, unless...: If the labor-monitoring unit is inside the hospital, then that is where a woman with preterm contractions goes to get rechecked... unless she got different instructions from her Ob-Gyn doctor. Preterm labor shall be avoided, meaning a woman should be rechecked each time she has preterm contractions, unless she is already being cared for and is being very closely monitored in some way.

Some basics: Preterm labor is not like appendicitis, treated & fixed. It can recur repeatedly. If you don't go in and have labor stopped, a baby delivered at 31 wks has a 80% chance of needing neonatal ICU care for 3-6 weeks or more. You should have someone on your delivery team you can call & review your symptoms, but you need to go have it assessed/stopped or you place baby at high risk.
