Nonspecific: I don't think that the back pain and varicose vein are related. More description of your back pain is needed to determine whether it's due to osteoarthritis, strain, disk disease,osteoporosis,etc. One prominent vein on the knee sounds insignificant, but if you have concerns about varicose veins, consult a vascular surgeon for evaluation and advice. If back pain persists, see your MD for evaluation
