No, HOWEVER...: The main reason people want to lower cholesterol is to reduce risk of heart disease; however, half of those with serious heart disease have normal cholesterol (& many with high chol. Don't get heart disease) so lowering cholesterol is not the best strategy to prevent heart disease. Donating blood 2x/year reduces risk of heart attack by 88%, a far greater risk reduction than lowering cholesterol!
