Current vs Past: Almost everyone has the antibodies to mono. The question is whether your results indicate it is current, past, re-activated, etc. Tests that can help are: Viral capsid antigen (VCA) Early antigen (EA) EBV nuclear antigen (EBNA) tests. In addition, there may be things such as CMV , Toxoplasma gondii, HHV6 and more that can become problematic when your immune system becomes compromised.
