The : The epididymis lies along the back of the testicle. It is made up of soft coiled tubes and contains sperm. The head of the epididymis sits at the top pole of the testicle. There is a tail at the bottom and the middle portion is called the body. Sometimes an outpouching of the epididymis can form; this is called a spermatocele. Spermatoceles are benign. Testicular cancers are usually very hard to the touch. If part of your testicle becomes very hard or you develop a new mass, see your doctor. Your doctor can educate you about how to do monthly testicular examinations. (please do not consider this information to be a diagnosis.).
