Canker sores: The stress of surgery can cause the herpes virus that lives along nerve trunks to become exacerbated. It's a self-limiting (10-14 day) phenomenon. To be sure that's what your problem is, call the General Dentist or Oral Surgeon that did your surgery. Your question falls under their post-surgical care responsibility.
