Can Affect Vision: Hydrochlorothiazide can harm vision in several ways. A case report from 1961 showed reversible nearsightedness and retinal edema. More recent reports include glaucoma. An evaluation by an ophthalmologist is in order. Consideration to trying another drug may be made.
