A member asked:

I had a pelvic ct scan which showed fibroids. im now having an ultrasound. will the ultrasound show anything the ct scan didnt pick up?

U/S + CT complement: Ultrasound (U/S) can show some detail that CT cannot. For example, the uterine lining is better delineated and fluid in the uterus or early pregnancies are better seen. Small ovarian cysts and tiny amounts of free fluid in the pelvis are also better seen on U/S. In addition with color doppler U/S, blood flow in and around fibroids and other structures is well seen.
