That can be time...: Time to see doctor. With symptoms of "terrible pain," a doctor should evaluate. It may be nerve pain from nerves coming out of the spine. It may be bone pain from the ribs or the spine. There could be a problem inside the lung or the pleura, which is the lining of the lung. If unable to reach one's regular doctor, one can go to the ER because pains in the chest area can be heart disease symptoms.
