I get a sharp pain in my chest when i take a deep breath?

Pleuritic pain: Sharp pains on inspiration are pleuritic and not cardiac-- they imply the kind of discomfort brought on by movement of either the chest wall or expansion of the lung tissue. They can occur in inflammatory type states (infection, musculoskeletal inflammation, etc). The can also occur w inflammation of the pleura (which lines the outside of lungs) and pericardium.
