A member asked:

Some women are said to be having periodic bleeding (not spotting) indistinguishable from a period during pregnancy. is it real? if so how often?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bleeding & pregnancy: Many women have bleeding during pregnancy, and some women do mistake this for a period and therefore do not realize they are pregnant right away. Bleeding in pregnancy can be caused by many things - placenta previa, subchorionic hemorrhage, cervical polyps, or cervical ectropion.
