Maybe: HPV is a family of viruses well known for their ability to go into hibernation for decades and reappear in nearby tissue. Having a worrisome area removed by freezing may get it all, but you will still need to follow through with checkups. Cervical cancer is associated with HPV but occasionally arises with HPV negative persons. It is great you removed a worrisome area & you may never have another.
