Back pelvis hips: With pain at the waist in a young male, the key to the diagnosis is truly locating the pain. At the level of your waist it could be lumbar or myofascial pain, spondylolysis (stress fracture of the pars), sacroiliitis, or even hip pathology (labral tear or impingement). Sleeping with a pillow under your knees may help. Stretching your hamstrings and lower back may help as well.
