A member asked:

How many x-rays do you need before you are at a risk for cancer or a significant increase of cancer? i have had quite a few due to health problems

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A lot of x-rays: It takes more regular x-rays than a typical person with several common disorders would likely get in a lifetime, in order to create a noticeably increased theoretical cancer risk, above the baseline number of cancers he would be at risk for without having had those x-rays. Nobody knows any numbers with certainty. My guess is more than 100 higher dose, or more than 1000 lower dose, regular x-rays.
