Many possibilities: Upper abdominal pain can be from a variety of causes, including acid pains, such as stomach ulcer, just gastritis with no ulcer, or acid reflux heartburn. Infection with H. pylori bacteria can lead to stomach ulcer pains. An acid blocker can help in some cases. Needs more evaluation by a primary care doctor. Stomach flu, pancreatitis, gallstones, hepatitis, or various cancers can also cause pain.
