HTN meds: Often use Lisinopril for HTN unless allergic reaction/ severe kidney issues . It protects kidneys and has been associated with decreased mortality. Verapamil is more often used if associated fast heart rhythms . it can have negative inotropic (heart strength) .Clonidine brings down blood pressure acutely .I don't start people on it because it has a rebound effect when stopped f/u/ w/ doc
